Job Summary

The Utility Clerk is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and sanitation throughout the club and parking areas. Duties include gathering carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club's entrance to ensure member convenience.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out assigned duties and uphold compliance with club policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for members and coworkers.
• Act with integrity and address member concerns professionally, escalating when necessary.

• Deliver exceptional service at every member interaction point, including greeting and anticipating member needs.

• Maintain exterior grounds, including cart corrals, sidewalks, and trash areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely including floor scrubbers, trash compactors, and cardboard balers.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning tasks like mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, glass cleaning, and trash removal.
• Identify and report major repair needs; keep supply areas organized and well-stocked.
• Return unused merchandise to sales floors and remove defective carts.
• Support other departments and tasks as required to meet business needs.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance as a core job expectation.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Completion of all required training and certifications is mandatory.
• Maintenance or janitorial experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Previous retail or wholesale experience preferred.
• Candidates performing cart retrieval may be under 18, but operating machinery and entering age-restricted areas requires being over 18.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Work primarily occurs on hard surfaces with frequent bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, and ladder use.
• Regular lifting of up to 30 pounds required; heavier objects may be moved with help, including pallet jack use.
• Exposure to authorized cleaning agents, paints, and chemicals happens occasionally.
• Work happens both indoors and outdoors, facing varying temperatures including freezer and cooler conditions.

Compensation
