Job Summary

The Utility Clerk ensures club areas maintain high cleanliness and safety standards for both members and staff. Responsibilities include collecting and returning carts and flatbeds from the parking area to the entrance, as well as general maintenance and cleaning tasks.

• Maintain cleanliness of sales floor, offices, restrooms, parking lots, and outdoor grounds.
• Collect and return carts and flatbeds ensuring they are clean, operational and readily available for members.
• Return unused merchandise to sales areas and perform routine building repairs or report needs to management.
• Operate maintenance equipment such as floor scrubbers, trash compactors, and balers following safety protocols.
• Restock cleaning supplies and organize storage areas.
• Adapt to perform duties in other departments as necessary.
• Ensure regular and dependable attendance as a job requirement.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of required training and certifications.
• Maintenance or janitorial experience preferred but not mandatory.
• Previous retail or wholesale experience is desirable.
• Must be at least 18 years old to operate equipment or enter age-restricted areas; younger individuals may perform cart retrieval duties.

Work Environment

• The role involves substantial movement on hard surfaces, frequent bending, stooping, climbing ladders or step stools.
• Regular lifting of up to 30 pounds and occasional assisted handling of heavier or awkward items.
• Exposure to authorized cleaning agents, occasional paint and chemicals, indoor and outdoor temperature variations including freezers and coolers.
• Regular work environments both inside the club and outdoors with exposure to weather conditions.

Compensation

The anticipated starting pay is $16.00 per hour, with actual wages varying based on location, qualifications, and experience.
