Training Cell Team Leader

Role Overview

The Training Cell Team Leader, reporting to the Forward Maintenance Manager, is charged with designing and updating training tools to identify needs and document completed training. This position involves close collaboration and support for maintenance staff and managers across all levels to effectively use multiple training media and pathways, ensuring competence and regulatory compliance. The leader manages the training cell to guarantee personnel competency for maintenance duties and assists with courses during departmental absences.

Key Responsibilities

• Revise training content to address evolving systems, upgrades, and newly emerging requirements under guidance from the Maintenance Training Team Lead.
• Work with the Lead Trainer to ensure training materials meet required standards and configurations.
• Develop and manage training schedules and delivery plans according to directives from the Maintenance Training Team Lead.
• Support creation of tailored or new courses through collaboration with the Maintenance Training Lead, including outsourcing where necessary.
• Provide induction training and other specific sessions such as continuation training, manual handling, and working at heights.
• Conduct safety, health, and environmental briefings with the onsite SHE coordinator.
• Maintain comprehensive training records demonstrating maintenance personnel competence and currency for compliance verification.
• Coordinate with external agencies to facilitate training and refresher programs.
• Collect and analyze feedback from participants to identify trends and adapt training accordingly.
• Deliver Integrated Management System (IMS) training as required.

Accountability and Compliance

• Execute and document training activities alongside assessments ensuring all employees develop requisite skills for maintenance tasks.
• Ensure adherence to the regulatory framework, associated procedures, company standards, and implement changes as necessary.
• Apply principles of human factors, error management, risk management, and safety assurance in safety management systems.
• Manage Continuing Airworthiness Assurance (quality) including oversight of CAA systems, audit support, and timely response to audit findings.
• Demonstrate deep understanding of continuing airworthiness regulations (e.g., EASA) and ensure compliance with ITAR, EaPW, and related statutory requirements.
• Uphold contractual obligations and support contract reviews by communicating relevant changes to airworthiness records management.

Qualification and Experience Requirements

• Possess practical knowledge and competency related to Typhoon aircraft within own and other technical areas, understanding team integration and continuous improvement practices.
• Completion of the Typhoon Trade ‘Q’ Course.
• Engineering qualification equivalent to HNC or commensurate experience.
• Foundation level leadership training.
• Training or awareness in Human Factors, E&PW, ITAR compliance, and fire safety.
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
