Role Summary
The Traffic/Bin Spotter & Cleaner plays a key role in customer service and site safety by guiding vehicles to designated disposal zones, inspecting incoming loads for contamination, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the premises. This role involves close coordination with supervisors, drivers, contractors, and customers to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Strictly follow Miller Waste Systems' safety standards and have familiarity with applicable Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by directing vehicle traffic to correct disposal locations and answering customers' queries on unloading procedures.
- Utilize comprehensive knowledge of hand signals to spot vehicles safely and professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor grounds and indoor facilities through routine and seasonal tasks such as snow removal, salting, sweeping, and litter collection.
- Conduct visual inspections of vehicle loads to detect contamination and direct traffic accordingly.
- Regularly monitor site safety conditions, promptly report and document hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Communicate and collaborate professionally with site personnel, management, drivers, contractors, and customers.
- Adhere to all organizational safety policies, ISO standards, Standard Operating Procedures, and health regulations.
- Undertake additional projects and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize effectively to meet operational priorities.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds on a repetitive basis.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
- Commitment to achieving or surpassing performance and productivity targets.
Additional Information
This is a permanent, full-time role based at 1220 Squires Beach Road, Pickering, Ontario. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with an immediate start date.
Hourly compensation is set at $20.00 per hour.
