Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and commercially astute Trade Executive to join our Commercial team based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role supports trade and commercial functions within the Gulf region, emphasizing cargo pricing, vessel capacity optimization, trade performance analysis, and fostering cooperation among stakeholders to enhance revenue and competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and execute pricing strategies across Gulf trade services to optimize revenue and expand market share.
- Evaluate freight rate requests, prepare quotations, and review commercial proposals aligned with business objectives and market trends.
- Coordinate with regional agencies ensuring precise application of pricing structures, commercial agreements, and trade policies.
- Monitor vessel space utilization, working collaboratively to maximize cargo allocation and capacity usage.
- Analyze booking patterns, cargo demand, and market conditions to identify growth opportunities.
- Handle customer requests regarding commercial arrangements, free time extensions, and specialized service needs.
- Investigate discrepancies in freight, validate commercial documentation, and assist in resolving agency and customer issues.
- Track utilization of reefer and special cargo to improve service efficiency and profitability.
- Contribute to tender preparations, strategic account pricing, and commercial initiatives by conducting market research and pricing analysis.
- Maintain accurate trade reports and ensure the integrity of commercial data.
- Collaborate extensively across regional offices, agencies, commercial, operations, and customer service teams to meet trade goals.
- Provide management with insightful commercial analysis, performance reviews, and market intelligence to support decision-making.
- Forge and maintain solid working relationships with agency partners and internal stakeholders.
- Engage in continuous improvement programs aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, service quality, and commercial outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain, Economics, or related fields.
- Have 2 to 5 years of professional experience in shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, trade management, or commercial operations.
- Experience in container shipping industry is an advantageous asset.
