About the Role
Medessy Enterprises Limited, operating as NG-Ride/NG-Ride Logistics, is an expanding transportation firm based in Lagos, Nigeria. We are seeking a Tracking Officer to oversee and monitor the real-time movements of the company's fleet and assets. The role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring route compliance, guaranteeing safety, and promptly addressing any irregularities in vehicle usage.
Primary Responsibilities
- Observe both live and recorded vehicle camera footage to assess driver conduct, vehicle routes, and adherence to planned paths.
- Utilize GPS and fleet tracking software to monitor vehicle locations continuously, and identify any deviations from designated routes or schedules.
- Detect and report instances of unsafe driving such as speeding, harsh braking, unauthorized stops, mobile phone usage, and signs of driver fatigue via camera footage.
- Keep detailed records of vehicle trips, including mileage, idle periods, and delivery timelines.
- Immediately report incidents like accidents, theft, route changes, or prolonged stops to the Fleet or Logistics Manager.
- Verify consistency between camera/GPS data with trip logs and delivery plans to spot anomalies.
- Create comprehensive daily and weekly tracking summaries covering vehicle activities, driver compliance, and recorded incidents.
- Communicate with drivers through radio or phone to clarify situations during flagged events or unclear monitoring.
- Assist in investigative processes related to accidents, cargo loss, or breaches of company policies using gathered tracking and video data.
- Ensure operational status of tracking and camera devices and notify relevant departments for repairs when necessary.
- Uphold the confidentiality of surveillance and tracking information according to the organization's data protection guidelines.

Qualifications and Other Requirements
- Possession of OND, HND, or Bachelor's degree, preferably in Logistics, Transport Management, or related disciplines.
- Previous work experience in fleet tracking, logistics, or security surveillance is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of local and regional road networks and geography.
- Willingness to work during weekends and public holidays when necessary.
