Responsibilities

• Create original designs for stamping dies, robotic and manual weld fixtures, assembly fixtures, and other production tooling requirements.
• Implement modifications to existing tools aimed at continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and comprehensive drawings for all newly designed tooling.
• Collaborate with the tool room and external vendors to resolve any queries or concerns regarding tooling designs.
• Maintain precise plant layouts and communicate any changes in parts and drawings to the organization.
• Execute special design assignments as directed.
• Promote a safe working environment and uphold housekeeping standards within the Engineering Department.
• Comply with company policies, IATF, and TS protocols.
• Work effectively as part of a team and display flexibility to work overtime when necessary.

Technical Expertise Required

• Minimum of 3 years of experience designing stamping dies.
• At least 2 years’ experience in designing robotic weld fixtures and projection/spot weld fixtures.
• 3 years’ experience in assembly fixture design.
• Knowledge of various material types, their uses, and cost implications.
• Understanding of diverse fabrication techniques and their appropriate application.
• Experience in tool quoting is advantageous.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD; familiarity with NX is desirable.
• Competent in the Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in mechanical design, with prior involvement in metal stamping die design.
