Job description
Overview
Be part of a dedicated team driving project success by preparing commercial and technical proposals for High, Medium, and Low Voltage switchgear and containerized solutions, including EPC projects across key segments. Work collaboratively with sales and marketing teams locally, throughout APAC, and with the corporate headquarters. This role offers an exceptional platform to develop expertise in technical solutions, tender preparation and strategy, project planning, and negotiation skills. The position is based full-time at the Singapore APAC headquarters.
Primary Duties
- Maintain and update a comprehensive database of all tender documentation and related information.
- Develop and refine pricing and estimating databases while documenting cost implications of non-performance and lessons learned.
- Engage closely with the APAC bidding teams to continually improve tender processes, incorporating the latest customer insights and market requirements.
- Support pipeline review activities and standards to guarantee an up-to-date tender pool.
- Lead local tender teams in reviewing and analyzing tender invitations, requests for proposals, and requests for quotations to accurately interpret project needs.
- Own assigned projects' commercial aspects including subcontract management, ensuring proposals align with bidding strategies.
- Organize key meetings such as tender kick-offs, progress reviews, risk assessments, clarification sessions, tender approvals, and project handovers.
- Collaborate with technical experts to assemble compelling technical proposals that meet project specifications.
- Confirm that all technical requirements are comprehensively addressed within proposals.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, and supply chain teams to secure optimized solutions for submission.
- Timely prepare and submit tenders while monitoring their status and responding to client queries.
- Request and assess proposals from vendors and subcontractors; develop detailed cost estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting needs.
- Evaluate potential risks and contingencies affecting project costing.
Candidate Profile
- At least five years of experience in tendering, bidding, engineering, technical design, or related roles.
- Technical expertise in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) systems to manage M&E work requirements effectively.
- Experience in sectors like Industrial, Data Centers, Renewables, Power Transmission & Distribution, or Building projects is advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge of High, Medium, and Low Voltage switchgears and related product solutions from industry competitors.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is beneficial, due to frequent interaction with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders in the region.
- Familiarity with tender-related software tools such as WPS Office suite, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Adaptable and professional approach with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Detail-oriented, with a demonstrated passion for achieving successful outcomes.
