Overview
Maersk is seeking an Air Tender Associate to join its Air Freight team located in Raunheim, Germany. This position involves overseeing the tendering and pricing processes for air freight services to ensure solutions are competitively priced, compliant with regulations, and aligned with customer needs to facilitate business growth.
Key Duties
- Manage coordination between Stations, Area, Country teams, Global Tender Management (GTM), carriers, and partners to develop commercially viable and operationally practical air freight solutions.
- Lead the tendering and negotiation process for air freight shipments, including submitting bids to airlines and third-party logistics providers, negotiating terms, and ensuring cost-efficiency.
- Conduct pricing and cost structure evaluations for air freight, providing insightful recommendations for cost optimization.
- Guarantee timely and accurate completion of all necessary air cargo documentation and adherence to international customs and safety standards.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries related to shipment status and pricing for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze shipment data to identify trends and prepare detailed reports on cost, delivery performance, and service quality, particularly focusing on RFQ ratesheets.
Candidate Profile
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in air freight tendering, pricing, product development, or operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of air freight products, pricing approaches, and supply chain operations.
- Expertise in handling RFQs, tenders, and customer pricing demands.
- Familiarity with international freight forwarding and air cargo regulatory compliance.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, rate management, and reporting.
- Strong analytical skills combined with the ability to solve complex problems.
- Capability in managing large datasets and utilizing pricing models effectively.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and German.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate independently managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Customer-oriented with a commercially astute approach to problem-solving.
