Technician, Welding / Welder

Job Summary

The incumbent will be accountable for performing welding operations on diverse materials such as Carbon Steel, Aluminum, and Steel to assemble, repair, and fabricate equipment and structural elements. This position demands expertise in multiple welding methods while strictly following safety and quality guidelines to guarantee the strength and dependability of welded joints in challenging operational conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply varied welding techniques including MIG, TIG, and Stick to assemble, fix, and fabricate metal parts per project specifications and technical drawings.
• Conduct weld inspections ensuring alignment with recognized industry standards such as ASME, API, and AWS, plus project-specific requirements.
• Operate and sustain welding tools and equipment safely, verifying correct installation and operational readiness for welding tasks.
• Interpret and analyze technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints accurately to perform welding assignments.
• Collaborate with other disciplines, supervisors, and engineering personnel to ensure coordinated on-site operations.
• Follow all workplace safety protocols and regulations, including proper utilization of personal protective equipment to uphold a safe working environment.
• Detect and report discrepancies or problems in materials, drawings, or welding techniques, proposing improvements to optimize workflows.
• Keep detailed documentation of work performed, encompassing timesheets, inspection reports, and logs of material consumption.

Candidate Profile

• Possess a High School certificate or Diploma relevant to the field.
• Have a minimum of 6 to 8 years of direct and applicable work experience, ideally in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Heavy Manufacturing sectors.
• Preferably hold a Welding Certification such as AWS Welder Certification.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in welding procedures including MIG, TIG, and Stick along with materials knowledge.
• Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and a strong dedication to quality workmanship.
• Be well-versed in industry standards and compliance requirements associated with welding practices.
