Job Overview
We seek a technician holding at least a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering to proficiently install, service, and troubleshoot power systems, focusing particularly on inverters. The ideal candidate will also be skilled in diagnosing system faults, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and providing operational guidance. Prior experience with solar inverter installations is considered a plus, alongside strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, and fixtures using various hand and power tools.
- Use test devices and hand tools to identify and repair faults in malfunctioning systems and components.
- Connect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical parts.
- Inspect electrical components and systems to detect hazards, defects, and the need for repairs or adjustments, ensuring compliance with applicable codes.
- Advise management regarding potential hazards related to continued operation of equipment.
- Perform electrical system testing to verify circuit continuity and overall system safety.
- Acquire knowledge about additional electrical and mechanical systems used in alternative energy sectors.
- Troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting, transformers, and relevant wiring methods.
- Design, install, and maintain various power inverters including grid-tie, off-grid solar, and hybrid solar-grid configurations.
Candidate Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or be a TVET graduate, or have 10 years of equivalent experience.
- Demonstrate effective communication abilities.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude.
- Well-versed in inverter technology, printed circuit boards, and power supply repairs.
- Extensive knowledge in installation and maintenance of electrical instruments.
