Technical Project Manager - Data Engineering & AI

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished Technical Project Manager with over 10 years of IT experience to oversee large-scale initiatives in Data Engineering, Databricks, Analytics, and AdTech transformations based in Hyderabad, India. The candidate will be responsible for delivering complex projects that integrate modern data platforms and advanced analytics technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive complete project delivery lifecycle for Data Engineering, Databricks, Analytics, and AdTech projects.
• Manage project scopes, roadmaps, schedules, resource allocation, budgets, risk assessments, and milestone tracking.
• Oversee coordination among multiple workstreams and distributed technical teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Provide technical leadership for technologies such as Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Spark/PySpark, ETL/ELT processes, and Lakehouse architectures.
• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams managing data ingestion, transformation, modeling, governance, performance tuning, and cost management.
• Work in partnership with Data Engineering, Analytics, AI/ML, DevOps, Product, and business units to develop scalable and efficient solutions.
• Serve as the primary technical and delivery liaison for client stakeholders and deliver project updates at the executive level.
• Implement Agile/Scrum, SDLC, DevOps, ensuring quality, risk mitigation, and governance throughout project execution.
• Identify and address technical, operational, or delivery challenges to maintain predictable project progress.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT with extensive background in Technical Project or Program Management.
• Demonstrable track record delivering projects in Data Engineering, Data Modernization, Analytics, or Cloud Data environments.
• In-depth technical knowledge of Databricks and Lakehouse architecture.
• Familiarity with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Spark/PySpark, ETL/ELT, and data modeling techniques.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong command of Agile/Scrum frameworks and software development lifecycle methodologies.
• Exceptional communication skills for client, stakeholder, and executive interaction.
• Proven ability in managing distributed teams and multi-workstream projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, CSM, or PSM are an advantage.
• Databricks certification is beneficial.
• Experience in AdTech, Digital Advertising, MarTech, or Customer Analytics domains.
• Exposure to AI/ML, including Generative AI and Advanced Analytics projects.
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Azure DevOps, Airflow, and dbt.
