Role Overview

The position of Technical Product Manager specializing in Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) entails leading product discovery across business-to-consumer, business-to-business, and hybrid products. Key focus areas include managing functionalities such as user registration, authentication mechanisms including single sign-on and multi-factor authentication, identity lifecycle operations, session and token management, authorization strategies, and privacy consents related to identity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the advocate for customer identity experience, balancing security, ease of use, and conversion rates.
  • Oversee and prioritize the product backlog from thematic concepts down to user stories, ensuring smooth engineering workflow.
  • Create detailed technical specifications and user narratives encompassing edge cases, failure modes, and non-functional requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and architecture teams on API designs, system integration dependencies, platform decisions such as build versus buy strategies, migration, deprecation, and deployment plans.
  • Lead and participate in agile ceremonies supporting the scrum development team.
  • Manage release cycles, prepare internal release notes, coordinate rollout strategies, and facilitate stakeholder communication and training materials.
  • Engage cross-functionally with departments including Security, Privacy and Legal, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support to gather input and adjust priorities accordingly.
  • Keep abreast of CIAM industry trends, potential risks, and best practices to enhance product offerings and minimize vulnerabilities.
  • Work schedule is set from 2 PM to 11 PM Indian Standard Time with a hybrid work model.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Hold over six years of experience in product management or ownership for web-based products or APIs, preferably with expertise in Identity and Access Management or Customer IAM.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record managing enterprise product lifecycles from conception to launch and iterative improvement.
  • Experience leading agile and scrum teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication abilities to convey complex identity-related concepts clearly to stakeholders.
  • Analytical skills with comfort in leveraging data and customer insights for decision-making.
  • Proven ability to work successfully alongside architects and developers to deliver clear and actionable user stories.
  • Knowledgeable in OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML protocols, as well as single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, and session/token handling patterns.
  • Experience with managing change and migrating legacy systems.
  • Exposure to privacy, consent, and compliance considerations related to identity management.
