Teaching Assistant

Role Overview

The secondary schools in Crosby, Sefton (L23) are urgently seeking reliable and proactive Teaching Assistants to join immediately. Successful candidates will be expected to support classroom instruction, maintain student focus, and help manage educational activities for pupils aged 11 to 16.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide academic, social, and emotional support to students aged 11 to 16 across various core subjects.
• Engage with students individually or in small groups to maintain their concentration and participation.
• Assist teachers by grading standard worksheets and monitoring daily student effort.
• Oversee classroom dynamics to sustain a safe, respectful, and productive learning space.
• Develop positive relationships with students to encourage confidence and engagement in the classroom.

Required Experience and Skills

• Prior experience working with young people within schools, youth organizations, or one-on-one tutoring roles.
• Confidence in classroom management and excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
• Flexibility to quickly adjust to different subjects and classroom settings throughout the day.
• A current enhanced DBS check on the Update Service or readiness to obtain one promptly.
