System Tester

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced System Tester to uphold the quality and dependability of our applications through thorough testing processes. This role involves conducting comprehensive test activities, detecting defects, and working closely with various teams to ensure delivery of stable and high-performing systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in the entire testing lifecycle including planning, designing, developing, executing tests, and closing activities.
• Create and carry out test cases grounded in both functional and technical specifications.
• Conduct different types of testing such as functional, integration, system, regression, and sanity to validate software robustness.
• Ensure seamless system integration across multiple modules and platforms is verified.
• Analyze live data flows to confirm precision and consistency throughout the system.
• Detect, document, and monitor bugs, collaborating actively with development teams to facilitate prompt fixes.
• Examine requirements and architectural documents to confirm they are testable and comprehensively covered.
• Assist in simulation exercises and scenario-based testing where applicable.
• Work effectively with cross-departmental teams including developers, stakeholders, and operations personnel.
• Perform any additional testing tasks as assigned.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of professional experience in system or software testing roles.
• Profound knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC), software testing life cycle (STLC), and quality assurance methodologies.
• Fundamental understanding of database testing concepts such as SQL and basic API testing principles.
• Proven experience testing complex or critical systems.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking solutions like JIRA and TestRail.
• Capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and take initiative on tasks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in testing.
• Willingness to support testing activities during night shifts or after normal hours as needed.

Preferred Competencies

• Background in industries such as transportation, smart city initiatives, or traffic management systems.
• Knowledge about Internet of Things (IoT), sensor integration, or Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
• Experience with test automation tools or scripting is beneficial.
• ISTQB Foundation certification holder or working towards certification is advantageous.
