System Tester

Overview

We are looking for a System Tester committed to assuring the quality and dependability of software applications by conducting thorough testing processes. This role requires participation in all stages of testing—planning, design, execution, and closure—while collaborating with diverse teams to deliver robust and efficient systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in comprehensive testing phases including test planning, requirement analysis, test design, implementation, execution, and final closure activities.
• Create and perform test cases aligned with both functional and technical specifications.
• Conduct various testing types such as functional, integration, system, regression, and sanity testing to validate software quality.
• Verify proper integration of systems across multiple components and platforms.
• Examine live data streams to ensure system accuracy and consistency.
• Identify, document, and track bugs, collaborating closely with developers to guarantee swift resolution.
• Review requirements and design documentation to confirm test coverage and feasibility.
• Assist in simulation and scenario-based tests when required.
• Work closely with developers, stakeholders, and operations teams to coordinate testing efforts.
• Fulfill additional testing responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possess a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or an equivalent field.
• Have at least five years of pertinent experience in system or software testing roles.
• Demonstrate solid knowledge of software development and testing lifecycle processes (SDLC/STLC) and quality assurance best practices.
• Understand database testing fundamentals, including SQL, and concepts surrounding API testing.
• Experience working on complex or mission-critical systems is essential.
• Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools like JIRA and TestRail.
• Capable of working independently with minimal oversight and taking initiative to progress tasks.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and clear communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Willingness to support testing activities during night shifts or outside regular hours as necessary.

Preferred Skills

• Background in transportation, smart city solutions, or traffic management systems is a plus.
• Knowledge about Internet of Things (IoT), sensor integrations, or Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
• Exposure to test automation frameworks or scripting languages considered advantageous.
• ISTQB Foundation level certification or progress towards obtaining it is desirable.
