About the Role

Join Aruma as a Support Worker where you will contribute significantly to improving the lives of people with disabilities and young individuals by delivering personalized, person-centered support. Your role involves offering assistance in daily living, providing emotional guidance, and promoting community involvement to foster a more inclusive and caring society.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized, high-quality support to people with disabilities.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility enhancement, and developing independent skills.
  • Establish meaningful relationships and offer mentorship and emotional support.
  • Encourage and facilitate participation in community and recreational activities.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to execute support plans effectively.
  • Advocate for the rights of customers and encourage their independence.
  • Maintain safe, trauma-informed environments especially for young people with complex needs.

Requirements

  • Experience in disability support, aged care, or family and community services.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain these qualifications.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • NDIS Worker Check clearance or commitment to obtain it.
  • Strong communication abilities, empathy, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to work flexible schedules including day shifts, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
