Role Overview

We are inviting applications for an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our team located in Nerang. This full-time role focuses on managing the pricing aspects of projects from the initial tender stage through fabrication to on-site installation. The ideal candidate will have practical, hands-on knowledge of steel assembly and erection, emphasizing supply and install activities rather than design or civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• Examine architectural, structural, and workshop drawings in detail.
• Prepare precise material quantity take-offs and labor cost estimates for structural steel and related metalwork.
• Calculate comprehensive project costs covering fabrication, surface treatments, transportation, and site installation.
• Incorporate practical considerations for site installation logistics including cranage and erection techniques into estimates.
• Maintain direct communication with clients and coordinate closely with internal teams handling fabrication, installation, and logistics.

Required Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in estimating structural steel projects with a focus on supply and installation.
• Strong practical knowledge of site installation procedures and on-site steel erection.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and workshop blueprints.
• Preferred candidates will have a trade background such as boilermaking or equivalent practical industry experience.

Note: Engineering or civil engineering qualifications are not mandatory; practical steel estimating and site installation expertise are prioritized.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive base salary ranging from $115,000 to $120,000 annually, dependent on experience.
