Role Overview
The Store Manager Candidate plays a supportive role in managing store activities by aiding in employee supervision, managing staffing needs, inventory control, product merchandising, and enhancing customer service. This position is designed as a growth opportunity for aspiring store managers, emphasizing team development and ensuring smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, and training store staff members.
- Engage in merchandising tasks such as staging, stocking, and presenting products appropriately.
- Help manage inventory by monitoring damages, markdowns, and conducting stock counts.
- Maintain target inventory levels by applying effective ordering procedures.
- Lead customer service initiatives while exemplifying store policies and procedures.
- Support store opening and closing routines, including securing cash and upholding safety and cleanliness standards.
- Analyze financial documents to detect trends and manage expenses efficiently.
- Ensure all required paperwork and documentation are completed accurately and punctually.
Qualifications and Skills
- Capability to interpret various documents, perform basic arithmetic, and operate cash registers.
- Familiarity with inventory control, product merchandising, cash handling, and safety regulations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- High school diploma preferred; prior experience in retail is beneficial.
- Physical ability to lift up to 55 pounds regularly and endure extended periods of standing and walking.
- Bilingual proficiency may be favored depending on the location.
