Store Manager

Overview

The Store Manager role centers on ensuring smooth and effective store operations while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a fresh food offering at all times. This position is accountable for meeting essential store goals related to sales and profitability by managing employees and operations efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills

• At least two years of relevant retail management experience
• Proven ability to attain KPIs and targets
• Competency in interpreting and acting on business reports
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and Word
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong delegation capabilities
• Highly motivated with a strong work ethic
• Passionate about grocery retail
• Ability to excel in fast-paced environments

Primary Responsibilities

• Embody the Centra brand values such as pride, energy, imagination, and community focus
• Ensure the store operates smoothly and efficiently
• Set, track, and achieve sales targets alongside the team, focusing on metrics such as gross profit margin, net margin, waste reduction, and other KPIs as agreed with the Store Owner
• Ensure proper implementation of planograms and maintain correct product ranges
• Manage employee scheduling, including rostering and annual leave, maintaining accurate records
• Maintain regular communication with the Store Owner
• Keep store merchandising and presentation at exemplary standards following store guidelines
• Foster open communication within the team and management in a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere
• Handle customer inquiries efficiently and professionally, in line with store policies
• Participate actively in new initiatives and adapt to innovative ways of working
