Store Delivery Driver

Overview

Join B&Q as a Store Delivery Driver on a full-time permanent contract, working 36.75 hours weekly with shifts available Monday to Sunday between 7:00am and 10:00pm. This role is based at B&Q Aberdeen, Garthdee Road. The hourly compensation includes a £0.27 location-specific allowance, totaling £14.12 per hour.

As a vital part of our team, you will ensure timely and safe delivery of a variety of products, ranging from small items like tins of paint to bulky floor pack deliveries, using company-provided 3.5-ton vans. Expect some heavy lifting. During non-delivery times, your duties will extend to supporting store operations by processing customer orders on the shop floor using new technological tools and assisting your colleagues.

Role Responsibilities

• Safely operate 3.5-ton vehicles for multi-drop deliveries to customers’ residences.
• Carry out deliveries promptly and maintain the quality of goods.
• Load and unload stock, including significant heavy lifting.
• Process customer orders within the store using current technology.
• Support colleagues in various store functions as needed.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service representing the B&Q brand at all times.

Candidate Requirements

• Valid UK manual driving licence (Category B/B1) held for at least one year, with no more than six penalty points.
• Good communication skills with the ability to stay organized and plan efficiently under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting.
• Commitment to safety and professionalism, including passing DBS and DVLA checks.
