Position Overview

The role of Assistant Store Manager involves leading and developing the store team to provide exceptional service to customers, helping pet owners choose the right nutrition and solutions for their pets. This position offers an opportunity for growth and learning within a passionate, pet-focused retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all team members consistently meet customer service standards and foster positive relationships within the community, including partnerships with organizations like the Humane Society.
• Recruit, schedule, train, delegate daily tasks, supervise, and mentor store employees effectively.
• Maintain compliance with corporate operational standards and procedures across all staff activities.
• Manage administrative duties such as order coordination, inventory control, store and safety audits, minor repairs, and corporate paperwork.
• Drive the store team to achieve business goals and performance targets.
• Perform any other duties as assigned to support store operations.

Candidate Profile

• At least two years of experience managing customer service and retail store operations.
• Keen interest in advancing within the pet care industry and eagerness to learn.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor combined with strong customer service capabilities.
• Availability to work according to scheduled hours, including weekends and evenings.
• Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
• Skilled in observing and coaching employees on sales methods and customer service excellence.
• Ability to recognize interpersonal team conflicts and escalate issues appropriately.
• Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
• Physical capability to lift weights up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Prior industry experience considered a plus.
