Role Overview

As a Starbucks Operator, you will deliver personalized service in an on-site café environment, honing your expertise in coffee and tea while enhancing customer service capabilities within a lively and inviting setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and standards at all times.
  • Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Provide top-notch customer service aligned with Safeway’s customer engagement initiatives.
  • Manage merchandising efforts for both Safeway and Starbucks programs effectively.
  • Handle pricing, display setups, ordering, and inventory control within your department.
  • Maintain the department’s cleanliness, overall presentation, and profitability while ensuring exemplary customer service.
  • Supervise department staff including scheduling, training, and delegation of tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with necessary paperwork and documentation as per divisional guidelines.
  • Operate cash registers and process various payment methods including cash, cheque, credit/debit cards, and gift cards.
  • Prepare a variety of hot and cold beverages, specializing in handcrafted specialty drinks.
  • Manage stocking tasks and product ordering efficiently.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Completion of High School education.
  • Previous experience as a Barista or in a supervisory role is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
  • Capability to thrive in fast-paced settings.
  • Highly driven and collaborative team player.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Practices safe work habits consistently.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to be scheduled for shifts at any time as required.

Physical Demands

  • Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 45 pounds.
  • Continuous hand coordination and gripping activities.
  • Frequent usage of computer systems and point of sale terminals.
  • Regular periods of standing and bending.
  • Occasional walking and squatting to complete tasks.
