Staff Sensor Subsystem Design Engineer

About the Role

The Infra-Sensors team at Qualcomm is tasked with developing advanced sensor subsystems and integral Intellectual Properties (IPs) that form the core of Snapdragon processors. This position involves contributing to the architectural design, RTL coding, and verification of highly sophisticated subsystems for state-of-the-art chipsets. Collaborating closely with Architecture, Software, and System-on-Chip (SoC) teams across different Qualcomm locations is essential. Candidates should have strong communication abilities and technical expertise in AMBA protocols, power-efficient design approaches, and debugging.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and verification of sensor subsystems and associated IPs for Snapdragon platforms.
• Develop micro and macro-architecture alongside RTL coding in Verilog/VHDL.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Architecture, Software, and SoC.
• Utilize advanced debugging tools during simulation and verification phases.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or a relevant field preferred; bachelor's or PhD holders with equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum of 4 years ASIC design or verification experience.
• Solid experience with ASIC design including microarchitecture and RTL design using Verilog or VHDL.
• Hands-on experience with low power design methodologies and Unified Power Format (UPF).
• Proficiency with AMBA protocols such as AHB, AXI, and APB.
• Experience in utilizing lint and CDC (Clock Domain Crossing) tools.
• Skilled in Synopsys simulation tools including Verdi for debugging and analysis.
• Ability to operate within multidisciplinary global teams focused on high-volume advanced applications.
• Strong analytical mindset and adaptability to fast-paced work environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
