Job Location and Schedule

This role is based at 2245 Douglas Rd, Burnaby, BC V5C 5A9. The work schedule spans Monday to Friday from 1:30 AM to 8:00 AM, including a 30-minute unpaid break.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage is $23.63, with structured annual increases culminating in a maximum rate of $29.23 per hour after 48 months.

Role Overview

The AM Sorter is responsible for sorting and categorizing freight by destination, weight, size, and shape to align with client delivery timelines. This requires physically handling freight and utilizing scanning technology to ensure accurate processing.

Responsibilities

• Unload freight from curbside trucks onto conveyors and vice versa
• Unload freight from chutes or conveyors for loading purposes
• Load freight into linehaul or cube vehicles
• Preload mail and packages into curbside delivery vehicles
• Manually move bulk or items that cannot be conveyed mechanically
• Scan shipped or received mail/packages to identify mis-sorted items or those designated for priority/weekend delivery

Requirements

• No specialized education necessary
• No prior experience required
• Ability to communicate effectively in English due to frequent interactions with stakeholders

Work Environment

The position involves work in warehouse settings and occasional outdoor exposure.
