Role Overview

The Solution Engineer role involves applying advanced expertise to quickly analyze intricate challenges, craft strategic approaches, and facilitate meaningful results. This senior position requires strong leadership, expert problem-solving abilities, and guiding clients as well as internal teams toward successful outcomes. Reporting to the Presales Manager for Europe within the Global Solution Engineering department, this role frequently collaborates with varied clients and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize deep knowledge of Prophix products, industry trends, and functional areas to influence client strategies and assist prospects during complex evaluation processes
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Business Development, and Marketing as the senior subject matter authority on the CPM platform, providing thought leadership and building credibility
• Advise clients on industry best practices in CPM, assisting them in designing target architectures and transformation roadmaps aligned with their objectives
• Lead in-depth technical and functional discussions covering areas like Financial Consolidations, ETL methods, Database Design, and Cloud Architectures while establishing technical confidence and executive engagement
• Develop and present customized, high-impact demos, presentations, and proof-of-concept sessions that communicate Prophix's value to Finance, IT, and Executive audiences
• Serve as the strategic subject expert for major sales opportunities partnering with Sales on execution plans
• Act as a trusted consultant for internal teams including Product Management, R&D, and Product Marketing by incorporating customer insights and influencing product roadmaps

Required Qualifications

• Combination of relevant experience, training, or education supporting success in this role
• At least 5 years of experience in consulting, implementation, business or systems analysis, pre-sales, or financial systems in complex environments involving multiple stakeholders
• Completion of a post-secondary degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, or related field
• Foundational or applied expertise in financial modeling and reporting, including planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, consolidations, and group reporting
• Exceptional aptitude for rapidly learning new technologies, understanding their benefits, and applying them to business goals
• Strong communication skills capable of conveying concepts and business advantages clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Willingness to occasionally travel regionally or internationally
• Fluent English is required; knowledge of additional European languages is advantageous
• Responsible use of AI tools to assist with research, drafting, or data analysis
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to evolving technology tools
• Curious and open-minded approach to exploring new solutions
• Collaborative attitude while working across teams and technologies
• Legal right to work in the UK where this role is based

Preferred Qualifications

• Past exposure to CPM, EPM, Business Intelligence (BI), or Data Warehouse (DWH) solutions
• Strong understanding of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS/OLTP) and Multi-Dimensional Databases (OLAP)
• Hands-on experience with SQL, MDX, and ETL procedures
• Broad knowledge of Enterprise and SaaS architectures
• Advanced proficiency in Excel is beneficial
• Confidence in engaging stakeholders at all organizational levels, including C-suite executives
• Skilled at gathering business requirements, identifying challenges, and recommending solutions
• Natural presenter with excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable leading customer interactions
• Enthusiastic about learning, researching, and problem-solving
• Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal capabilities; able to lead in front of customers
• Driven, proactive, and curious mindset focused on identifying and implementing intelligent solutions
