Overview
Shree Mahavir Metal Industries, operating under the Kelegent brand renowned for precision and quality in architectural hardware since 1984, is seeking a Solution Design Lead/Manager in Pune. This role focuses on designing and developing innovative architectural hardware such as hinges, locks, handles, and sliding mechanisms for windows and doors.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive architectural hardware products, translating customer needs into technical specifications alongside cross-functional teams.
- Perform feasibility analyses, create prototypes, and conduct rigorous testing to validate design concepts.
- Generate detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using tools like SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Ensure designs meet standards for structural integrity, manufacturability, and aesthetic appeal.
- Optimize products considering strength, durability, corrosion resistance, and thermal performance while integrating the latest industry innovations and adhering to standards such as EN and ISO.
- Manage multiple design projects, coordinating with suppliers for component sourcing and manufacturability assurance; prepare design documentation including material and cost analysis.
- Oversee testing protocols and quality assurance, evaluating prototypes against operational benchmarks and real-world conditions, implementing improvements as needed.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and customer support teams to fulfill client requirements and facilitate creation of technical manuals and training materials.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Machine Design, or related disciplines is required.
- At least 10 years of experience with a proven history in product design and development, especially in architectural hardware or related sectors such as automotive and machine tools.
- Advanced proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Deep understanding of materials (metals, coatings, finishes) and manufacturing processes including casting, machining, sheet metal work, extrusion, and injection molding.
- Knowledge of testing methodologies for load capacity, durability, and corrosion resistance.
- Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) or equivalent and training in quality systems like FMEA or Six Sigma preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaborative skills with a keen attention to detail and dedication to design quality.
Minimum education
Master's Degree
