Company Overview

This opportunity is with Cloudsine, an emerging Web and GenAI security technology startup based in Singapore, supported by SGInnovate. Their flagship offering, WebOrion®, is trusted by major enterprises including banks, government bodies, telcos, and Global 2000 companies across Asia and Australia. The company is advancing into AI security, developing platforms to protect against advanced AI attacks such as Prompt Injection and Image Poisoning, aligned with OWASP's top security threats for large language models.

Role Overview

The Software Engineering Manager will directly oversee the engineering execution of CloudsineAI’s products including WebOrion®, GenAI Protector Plus, and the TraceCtrl Agentic AI Security Platform. This role demands hands-on technical leadership to steer architecture decisions, code reviews, sprint planning, and release management within an agile, fast-paced startup setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of the engineering roadmap for the AI security product suite.
  • Lead technical planning and development activities including architecture design and code quality assurance.
  • Collaborate closely with the Product Manager to transform the product vision into concrete sprint goals and technical output.
  • Coordinate with DevOps teams to ensure CI/CD pipeline robustness, infrastructure support, and reliable deployments.
  • Work alongside AI Cyber Research teams to convert innovative detection methods into scalable, deployable features.
  • Assist the Technical Director with technical scope and architecture decisions for enterprise-level and public sector customization and deployments.
  • Recruit, mentor, and lead an engineering group, overseeing performance and career progression of team members.
  • Maintain high standards of code quality, security protocols, and scalability to support diverse business lines from SaaS to enterprise customers.
  • Monitor and report on engineering performance metrics such as velocity, uptime, and defect rates to senior leadership.
  • Keep abreast of advancements in GenAI and cybersecurity engineering to maintain cutting-edge technical practices.

Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Holds a minimum of six years in software engineering with at least one to two years in a leadership role managing people.
  • Exhibits strong full-stack development skills in Python, Golang, JavaScript/TypeScript, and frameworks like React and Node.js.
  • Experienced in AWS cloud-native systems, containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes, and proficient with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of AI and machine learning technologies along with security principles is highly advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop engineering teams ranging from five to fifteen members.
  • Strong communication skills facilitating effective collaboration across product management, research, DevOps, and client delivery teams.
  • Adaptable to dynamic startup environments with shifting priorities and rapid progress.
