Role Overview

As a Software Engineer within this team, your core focus will be on developing user-facing search functionalities with an emphasis on front-end technologies, while also contributing to backend integrations. Collaboration will span multiple disciplines, including product management, design, data science, and machine learning, to deliver polished and reliable search solutions throughout the development lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create, test, and maintain accessible, responsive, and high-quality search experiences using React, TypeScript, and modern web standards.
• Manage complete feature lifecycles from architectural design through implementation, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing improvements.
• Develop backend services and integrate APIs to link customer-facing components with search algorithms, AI systems, and data platforms.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate user needs into effective technical implementations.
• Enhance product performance, stability, usability, and maintainability.
• Utilize user feedback, analytics, and experimentation to boost search effectiveness and user engagement.
• Participate in design reviews, code audits, incident management, and support activities.
• Improve team efficiency by creating better tools, documentation, reusable components, and promoting sound engineering practices.
• Mentor colleagues by sharing knowledge and providing constructive feedback to elevate team capabilities.

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience in software engineering focused on production software delivery.
• Proficiency in developing web applications with React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, or related frameworks.
• Skilled in creating reusable components and building responsive, accessible user interfaces.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Strong fundamentals in software design, data structures, automated testing, and debugging techniques.
• Track record of independently owning features from design through production support.
• Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, tested, and high-performance code.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for effective teamwork with diverse stakeholders.
• Capability to manage ambiguity, make informed technical decisions, and proactively communicate risks or obstacles.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with backend development using Node.js, Java, Kotlin, or similar languages.
• Familiarity with large-scale SaaS environments and cloud services like AWS.
• Knowledge of search technologies, information retrieval, AI-powered functionalities, or data-driven user experiences.
• Background in experimentation, product analytics, observability, or optimizing frontend performance.
• Experience working with component libraries or design systems shared across teams.
