Role Overview

As a Software Engineer focusing on Infrastructure at Thought Machine, you will be integral in deploying and maintaining state-of-the-art software systems, creating tools and integrations for third-party infrastructure components used by our customers. Your responsibilities include automating deployment processes, enabling infrastructure adjustments for data and streaming platforms supporting our products, and developing automation that delivers reliable and intuitive user experiences for both internal engineers and bank Site Reliability Engineers (SREs).

Key Duties

• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop reliable and scalable applications.
• Design and implement tools that automate and enhance service scalability and availability.
• Create monitoring and orchestration solutions to help customers manage their deployments effectively.
• Contribute to strategies and tooling for disaster recovery, backups, and redundancy.
• Improve code quality by developing new tools and processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant practical experience.
• Proficiency in building production-grade infrastructure management tools using Python or Golang.
• Familiarity with at least one of the following technologies: observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana), databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, DuckDB), event streaming systems (e.g., Kafka), container orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of continuous integration and delivery systems (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab, GitHub Actions).

Preferred Skills

• Experience managing production systems within environments requiring high transaction consistency.
