Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for a Software Engineer III with expertise in OpenXR to develop cross-platform XR experiences. This position involves advanced graphics and runtime engineering to deliver XR applications that perform seamlessly across multiple VR headsets and platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain XR software applications utilizing OpenXR and related SDK technologies.
- Implement integration of rendering, input, and runtime systems specific to XR headsets.
- Optimize the performance metrics including frame timing and latency for immersive XR workloads.
- Create cross-platform solutions that support devices such as Quest, Vision, and SteamVR.
- Participate in code reviews and assist in making key architectural decisions.
- Collaborate closely with design and product teams to establish XR interaction methodologies.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years experience developing production-level software, including XR or graphics programming.
- Expertise in C++ programming and modern graphics APIs such as Vulkan, DirectX, and OpenGL.
- Direct hands-on experience with OpenXR or similar XR runtime environments.
- Knowledge of game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine is advantageous.
- Experience with shader programming, rendering pipeline architecture, and performance tuning.
- Strong fundamentals in software engineering practices.
