About the Team

The Agent Engineering team oversees deployment of essential AI agents that influence millions and contribute significantly to Decagon’s growth. You will enhance our advanced AI agent platform, partner closely with clients, and apply innovative thinking to develop long-lasting, scalable solutions aimed at delivering magical customer support experiences where AI collaborates with humans to resolve issues efficiently.

Role Overview

As part of the Agent Engineering team, you’ll take full ownership of building and refining AI agents—from initial development through ongoing improvements. This role involves direct interaction with leaders in sectors like finance, healthcare, and hospitality, creating reliable, user-friendly AI systems that scale well for millions of end-users. Engineers here are empowered to make meaningful product impacts while navigating complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop AI agents that surpass human effectiveness in managing nuanced customer conversations and enhancing customer loyalty.
  • Recognize patterns across customers that inform improvements to Decagon’s agent platform and related research efforts.
  • Implement and test the latest text and voice models, integrating these at scale for enterprise-level clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years professional experience in software engineering.
  • Strong skills in Python, TypeScript, and asynchronous programming techniques.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze failures within complex system architectures using diverse tools.

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to working with multi-modal AI models is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range for this position is £125,000 to £180,000 plus equity options.
