About the Role
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) leads Singapore's vision to become a premier Digital Economy. The Advanced Intelligent Software Systems (AISS) team focuses on developing cutting-edge software solutions for innovative projects such as AI Verify and GPT-Legal, aiming to empower businesses through frontier technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including product managers, research scientists, solution architects, and engineers to design and deliver software solutions aligned with business and technical goals.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, secure, and efficient code adhering to best industry practices.
- Ensure software robustness by creating unit and integration tests, conducting code reviews, collaborating with QA teams to detect and fix defects, thereby guaranteeing stable and reliable software releases.
- Document technical aspects comprehensively, including annotated code, architectural diagrams, design rationale, developer manuals, and system guides.
- Participate actively in agile processes such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and prioritization meetings to deliver incremental software improvements on schedule.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting support for user-reported issues.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and advancements in software development to continuously enhance capabilities and productivity.
Qualifications and Experience
- A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related engineering field.
- Minimum of three years of experience as a software engineer or developer contributing to successful software projects.
- Strong expertise in programming languages like Node.js and Python, RESTful API development, and databases including SQL and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB). Familiarity with Open Source technology stacks and experience with web app frameworks such as React is advantageous.
- Solid grasp of software development methodologies, design patterns, and microservices architecture.
- Proficient with containerization tools such as Docker, with additional knowledge of container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes and cloud services considered a plus.
- Experience working within agile environments, version control systems, branching strategies, software quality assurance, and information security best practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and foster positive influence.
