Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Slinger/Signaller to join a hectic high-rise student accommodation project based in Southampton. This role involves close coordination with the tower crane team to ensure safe and efficient movement of materials around the construction site.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform slinging and signaling for loads handled by tower cranes.
- Transport shuttering materials, frames, formwork, and other general construction supplies.
- Utilize radios and standardized hand signals to effectively guide crane operators.
- Inspect all lifting accessories such as slings, chains, and shackles before use.
- Adhere strictly to lift plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and all site safety procedures.
- Ensure exclusion zones are maintained to guarantee safety throughout lifting activities.
- Strategically position and distribute materials throughout the building site.
- Carry out general slinger/signaller responsibilities and support the wider site team when necessary.
- Maintain an organized and safe work environment at all times.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of CPCS or NPORS All Duties Ticket.
- Proven experience working with tower cranes and on high-rise construction projects.
- Preferably experienced with shuttering and formwork materials.
- Strong knowledge of safe lifting practices.
- In possession of full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Dependable and ready to start work on the upcoming Monday.
