Overview

A fast-growing AI infrastructure company expanding its data centre presence across the APAC region seeks an experienced Site Selection & Colocation Manager based in Singapore. This strategic role intersects data centre infrastructure, real estate, power supply, connectivity, and commercial strategy to identify, evaluate, and secure new data centre sites and colocation capacity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy for data centre site selection and colocation across APAC markets.
  • Assess potential sites and colocation providers for power availability, cooling, connectivity, capacity, and scalability.
  • Oversee commercial negotiations including leases, capacity contracts, SLAs, and related agreements.
  • Perform market research, cost modeling, and financial analysis to support investment decisions.
  • Manage evaluation of power, cooling infrastructure, network connectivity, and future expansion capabilities.
  • Coordinate multiple site selection and infrastructure projects simultaneously across diverse APAC regions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with data centre operators, developers, utilities, landlords, and infrastructure partners.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, infrastructure, finance, legal, procurement, and senior leadership teams.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial, technical, regulatory, and delivery risks.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in data centre site selection, colocation management, real estate development, or data centre infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of data centre power, cooling, and network requirements.
  • Proven experience evaluating colocation providers and negotiating leases, contracts, and SLAs.
  • Strong skills in market analysis, cost modeling, and risk assessment.
  • Experience managing multiple projects or sites concurrently across various markets.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and commercial negotiation abilities.
  • Capability to engage effectively with technical teams, commercial units, and executive leadership.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in hyperscale or large-scale data centre development.
  • Experience in utility procurement (power and water).
  • Familiarity with renewable energy markets.
  • Knowledge of substation planning and power infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with GIS or geospatial tools.
  • Expertise in data centre capacity planning.
  • Understanding of permitting and environmental regulatory frameworks.
