Site Groundskeeper

About the Role

Join Amcor in Beccles as a dedicated Site Groundskeeper, responsible for maintaining and enhancing the outdoor areas to ensure they are safe, orderly, and visually appealing for both employees and visitors. This full-time, onsite position supports the company’s commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence in the packaging industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks including mowing lawns, hedge trimming, strimming, leaf clearing, edging, and upkeep of landscaped areas and ponds.
• Engage in horticultural duties such as planting, pruning, weeding, watering, mulching, and preparing seasonal flower displays.
• Ensure site safety and cleanliness through litter collection, debris removal, winter gritting and snow clearance, and promptly reporting any hazards.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment like mowers, strimmers, tractors, and blowers, including performing basic maintenance and safety inspections.
• Conduct minor repairs involving fencing, pathways, drainage, and other outdoor fixtures.
• Manage waste by composting, handling green waste, and ensuring proper disposal of other materials.
• Support site operations by setting up outdoor areas for events, moving equipment, and assisting other team members as needed.
• Provide coverage for site waste management duties during periods of absence.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Practical experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or horticulture.
• Proficient operation of grounds machinery with a focus on safety.
• Knowledgeable in health and safety protocols including COSHH, use of PPE, and risk assessments.
• Basic understanding of turf and plant care practices.
• Able to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative work approach.
• Certification or qualifications: Level 2 Horticulturist or equivalent, tractor or ride-on mower training, First Aid certification, and a Fork Truck licence.
