Job description

Role Overview and Responsibilities

As a Shipping Coordinator specializing as an Analyst I in Logistics, you will manage the entire inbound shipment lifecycle to ensure timely and compliant delivery of goods. Your tasks include planning, scheduling, and monitoring shipments arriving by air, ocean, and courier modes. You will be the liaison with suppliers to confirm shipping details and documentation, track shipments actively to identify and address delays, and handle critical import/export paperwork such as bills of lading and certificates of origin.

Supplier and Carrier Coordination

This role requires being the main contact point for suppliers concerning logistics processes and managing carrier relationships by assessing their service performance, resolving discrepancies like damages or shortages, and synchronizing with warehouse teams concerning dock scheduling and unloading priorities.

Compliance and Cost Effectiveness

You will ensure inbound shipments meet international trading regulations, collaborating with customs brokers for product classification and clearance. Additionally, analyzing freight spending to suggest and implement cost-saving strategies, handling freight claims, and producing KPI reports are part of your duties.

Continuous Process Improvements

Identifying inefficiency sources and establishing improvements to reduce lead times and costs while enhancing shipment visibility will be ongoing. Participation in root cause analysis for logistics issues and staying updated on logistics technologies and regulations round out your continuous development tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Between two to four years of professional experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations focusing on inbound shipments.
  • Knowledge of international shipping processes including import/export as well as domestic less-than-truckload and full truckload shipments.

Technical and Soft Skills

  • Proficiency with ERP and warehouse management systems alongside strong Microsoft Excel abilities (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, analytics).
  • Familiarity with Incoterms 2020, customs documentation, and hazardous material regulations is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving capacity and the ability to make decisions quickly under pressure.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Capability to operate autonomously and also as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
