Position Overview
We are seeking a Shift Supervisor to join our Whanganui-based team. This role requires overseeing and orchestrating milk collection shifts, leading a team of drivers to guarantee safe, efficient, and smooth daily operations aligned with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing leadership and guidance to a team of drivers, fostering their wellbeing and operational success.
- Organizing daily milk collection runs and assigning tasks effectively.
- Monitoring fleet activities and assisting dispatch operations through modern technologies.
- Identifying potential operational issues proactively and implementing solutions.
- Delegating duties appropriately and supporting team member growth.
- Building positive working relationships and cultivating a collaborative team environment.
- Driving performance, productivity, and encouraging ongoing improvement efforts.
- Ensuring strict adherence to all health and safety protocols throughout operations.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience, preferably in transport, logistics, dairy, or similar operational sectors.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities focusing on precision and efficiency.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Genuine dedication to mentoring and developing team members.
- Capability to stay composed under pressure and flexibility to adapt to changing operational demands.
- Proactive attitude committed to continuous process enhancement.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with eROAD or comparable fleet management software is beneficial.
