Job description

Role Overview

The Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of store management. This includes opening and closing procedures, cash handling, ensuring the store floor and stockroom are properly prepared, and managing vendor deliveries.

Customer Experience

  • Greet customers and patients proactively, assisting them with products and services.
  • Resolve customer concerns to maintain a positive experience.
  • Demonstrate and encourage team members to adopt exemplary customer service behaviors such as courteous interactions, proactive assistance, and follow-through until satisfaction.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Hold store keys and open/close the store when management is absent.
  • Support and guide team members with warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including managing backdoor logistics for deliveries.
  • Oversee sales transactions on assigned cash registers, ensuring accuracy in scanning, pricing, voids, and error tracking.
  • Assist management in reviewing order exceptions, managing returns, and reverse logistics.
  • Contribute to display planning and execution, including promotional and seasonal setups, resets, and revisions.
  • Maintain precise inventory records across departments, stockrooms, and overstock areas.
  • Ensure adherence to the Outdate program and assist with stock rotation following first-in, first-out procedures.
  • Manage daily pricing updates, signage accuracy, and compliance with local pricing regulations.
  • Support bookkeeping tasks such as cash reporting, cash counts, ledger maintenance, and bill payments as required.
  • Help maintain store appearance and orderliness, including coordinating necessary repairs during management absence.
  • Assist with food safety policies, including separation and proper placement of food items.
  • Operate and understand store systems and equipment.
  • Provide support at the pharmacy window upon request.
  • Ensure legal compliance with regulations concerning controlled products like alcohol and tobacco.
  • Perform team member bag checks before store exits.
  • Adhere to all company policies and foster respectful coworker relationships.
  • Complete special tasks as assigned.

Training and Development

  • Attend training sessions and complete required learning modules as directed by management.

Communication

  • Act as the communication link between management and team members by relaying assigned tasks when management is not present.
  • Report any disciplinary matters or customer complaints to management.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership, supervisory, or key holder role within retail.
  • Fluent in English reading, writing, and speaking (except Puerto Rico).
  • Preferred: knowledge of store inventory control systems.
  • Applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
  • Obtaining and maintaining valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state regulations is necessary.

Salary Range: 17 to 20 USD per hour.
