About the Role
Based in Ferndown, Dorset, this permanent position offers an opportunity to join a respected manufacturer specializing in precision engineered components for various demanding industries. As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be part of a busy production team dedicated to producing high-quality sheet metal parts.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and manufacture sheet metal components using engineering drawings.
- Perform cutting, folding, shaping, and assembly of sheet metal parts.
- Operate various sheet metal machinery and manual tools.
- Execute finishing processes such as drilling, tapping, and countersinking.
- Verify components against blueprints and quality standards.
- Work with materials including stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel.
- Maintain a tidy, safe, and organized workspace.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to adhere to deadlines.
Candidate Profile
- Experience as a Sheet Metal Worker in an engineering or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Proficiency with sheet metal machinery and hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to quality workmanship.
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable with a flexible approach to work hours.
Terms and Benefits
- Hourly pay of £15.00, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the rate.
- Full-time, permanent role with a standard 39-hour workweek.
- Workdays are Monday to Friday, with early finishes on Fridays (7:30am - 4:45pm Mon-Thu; 7:30am - 12:30pm Fri).
