Role Overview
This role involves working as a core ServiceNow Developer responsible for maintaining and supporting the ServiceNow platform. The developer will collaborate with global business users and IT teams to comprehend key business goals and deliver appropriate ServiceNow-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage development and support activities with minimal supervision as needed.
- Communicate effectively with global colleagues to ensure alignment and smooth operations.
- Quickly assimilate new information, given the wide range of technologies in use.
- Actively participate in SCRUM and Sprint meetings, providing knowledgeable contributions across all modules.
- Proactively support team challenges beyond immediate responsibilities.
- Handle high-priority ServiceNow vendor interactions, including managing vendor calls and coordinating activities through the vendor portal (upgrade scheduling, patching).
- Conduct root cause analysis for significant incidents managed by the team.
- Be ready to work outside standard hours during urgent incidents and planned production deployments like upgrades.
Technical Expertise Required
- Solid understanding of IT Service Management processes: Incident, Change, Problem, and Catalog Items.
- Experience in instance upgrades, testing, and fixing bugs.
- Familiarity with data import and transform maps.
- Proficient scripting skills in Java, Jelly, AngularJS, with additional HTML and CSS knowledge considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of configuration management (CMDB) basics.
- Ability to develop workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI actions, policies, and macros.
- Competency in instance security configurations following best practices.
Working Knowledge of Modules
- API integration and ServiceNow orchestration/automation leveraging Azure and PowerShell.
- Managing inbound and outbound notifications.
- Experience with platform analytics, databasing, dashboard creation, discovery jobs, and certification inventory.
- Understanding of IT Business Management including IDEA, Demand, Project, Story, and SCRUM TASK modules.
- Custom application development and CMDB configuration management.
- Automated Testing Framework (ATF), test management versions 1.0 and 2.0.
- ServiceNow integration with third-party tools and Mid Server configuration.
- Knowledge management, service portal widget development, virtual agent/chatbot/machine learning implementations.
- Flow Designer and Service Operation Workspace familiarity.
- Foundational knowledge of Azure DevOps and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, OCI).
- Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, Service Bridge, and SAFe modules.
- Experience with ServiceNow version upgrades.
- Basic understanding of Generative and Open AI technologies.
- Human Resource Service Delivery modules including Employee Center and Portal.
Additional Attributes and Certifications
- ITIL certification or equivalent knowledge highly regarded.
- Basic understanding of Windows and network infrastructure.
- Certifications across various ServiceNow modules are advantageous.
