Senior VMware Infrastructure Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Senior VMware and Cloud Infrastructure Engineer possessing in-depth practical knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, NSX, and vSAN. This position involves extensive responsibilities in designing, implementing, administering, and troubleshooting complex enterprise VMware infrastructures, together with supporting hybrid cloud environments, network security, cloud migrations, and disaster recovery operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere enterprise-level environments including vCenter Server, ESXi hosts, clusters, HA (High Availability), DRS (Distributed Resource Scheduler), vMotion, and resource allocations.
• Configure and administer VMware NSX for virtual networking, segmentation, routing, and associated security measures.
• Handle VMware vSAN environments focusing on storage policies, cluster management, capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Execute infrastructure upgrades, patch installations, lifecycle management, and capacity planning for VMware systems.
• Resolve complex issues related to compute, virtualization, network, and storage components within VMware platforms ensuring operational continuity.
• Maintain high availability, strong performance, robust security, and system stability across VMware environments.
• Facilitate integration of VMware platforms with major cloud providers such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Microsoft Azure.
• Set up and troubleshoot hybrid connectivity solutions between on-premises VMware systems and cloud frameworks.
• Operate Palo Alto Firewall configurations and policies, including NAT, VPNs, and threat mitigation strategies.
• Manage DNS, DHCP, and IPAM services through Infoblox DDI solutions.
• Lead and support VMware to cloud migration processes, develop migration plans and technical documentation.
• Design and sustain VMware-based disaster recovery solutions, perform failover and failback validations and troubleshoot related incidents.
• Ensure all implementations align with organizational requirements for availability, recovery objectives, and business continuity.

Certifications and Qualifications

• VMware VCP (VMware Certified Professional) or VCAP (VMware Certified Advanced Professional) certification.
• VMware NSX Certified Professional.
• Certification in VMware vSAN administration.
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Architect Associate or Professional certification.
• Microsoft Azure certifications AZ-104 or AZ-700.
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA) or Expert (PCNSE) certification.
