Job description
Position Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Technical Project Manager to oversee complex, multidisciplinary projects within the financial services sector. This role involves managing enterprise-level initiatives that align business goals with technology execution, governance, data integrity, risk mitigation, and operational needs.
This position is open nationwide across Canada with occasional flexible hours to accommodate meetings in multiple time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct comprehensive project execution managing all aspects such as scope, schedules, budgets, personnel, quality standards, and deliverables.
- Implement and uphold project and data governance frameworks, ensuring active stakeholder involvement and accountability.
- Craft and sustain project plans that effectively balance scope, quality, timelines, costs, and business priorities.
- Organize and lead planning, governance, progress, and decision meetings involving sponsors, steering groups, business units, and technical teams.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and changes, establishing mitigation tactics accordingly.
- Coordinate activities across cross-functional groups including business data stewards, IT departments, and external vendors.
- Provide transparent reporting on project status, financials, operations, and risks to senior leaders.
- Support data quality initiatives, operational workflows, organizational change, and ongoing process improvements.
- Guarantee project outcomes satisfy compliance, quality, budgetary, timeline, and business requirement standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Significant senior-level experience handling complex, cross-functional technology projects.
- Proven ability to manage project scope, budgets, scheduling, resources, risks, issues, and change controls.
- Experience establishing project governance and collaborating with sponsors and steering committees.
- Background in data governance, data-centric projects, or initiatives targeting data quality improvements.
- Competency coordinating diverse stakeholders spanning business, technology, operations, vendors, and executive leadership.
- Robust skills in project planning, reporting, risk control, and documentation.
- Ability to work autonomously while balancing multiple priorities in a cross-functional setting.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, leadership, stakeholder engagement, and decision-support capabilities.
- Knowledge of financial services industry preferred.
Compensation and Additional Details
The estimated salary range for this position spans from $75,000 to $145,000, influenced by skill set, experience, location, and certifications.
