Job description
Role Overview
This role involves leading the analysis, design, coordination, and technical delivery of multi-storey building projects, primarily focusing on structures G+10 and above. The engineering position demands extensive consultancy and design experience within the UAE context, proficiency in advanced structural software such as ETABS and SAFE, and comprehensive knowledge of UAE regulations alongside international structural codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural analysis and design processes for buildings with more than 10 floors.
- Develop and validate structural calculations, detailed drawings, design specifications, and technical reports.
- Design reinforced concrete elements including foundations, slabs, columns, shear walls, and lateral support systems.
- Ensure the structural designs adhere to UAE laws, DMT/ADM regulations, and relevant international standards.
- Collaborate effectively with architectural, MEP, BIM, and geotechnical teams to integrate various design aspects.
- Conduct reviews of technical submissions, address and resolve design and coordination challenges, and assist in gaining approvals from authorities.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers by reviewing their work and providing technical support.
- Analyze geotechnical data and integrate soil condition considerations into structural designs.
Candidate Requirements
- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or an allied discipline.
- At least 8 years of structural engineering experience working within the UAE.
- Demonstrable expertise in designing multi-storey buildings with levels above G+10.
- Experience predominantly in consultancy or design offices; candidates with only supervision roles are less favored.
- Advanced skills in ETABS and SAFE software and strong proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with SAP2000 and STAAD.Pro is advantageous.
- Thorough understanding of UAE structural norms and international engineering codes.
- Experience with Revit Structure or BIM software is considered a plus.
- Professional engineering registration with ADM/DMT, or eligibility for such, is highly preferred.
- Excellent abilities in design, project coordination, problem solving, and communication.
Compensation
Monthly salary range offered is AED 20,000 to AED 25,000.
