Role Overview

As a Solutions Engineer specializing in pre-sales, you will act as the primary technical expert handling the technical aspects of sales engagements. Your role involves conveying Couchbase's unique advantages, demonstrating how its solution suite addresses customer needs, and instilling enthusiasm about adopting this advanced technology to drive sustained business value.

This position emphasizes engaging with clients through development-centric approaches, requiring experience in pre-sales, software development, and delivering business solutions. Proficiency in one or more enterprise programming languages and solution development frameworks is essential.

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage consultatively with customers and prospects to identify their challenges and opportunities.
• Align identified challenges with Couchbase's ecosystem by showcasing distinctive, sustainable business benefits.
• Act as a trusted advisor, questioning existing assumptions while delivering tangible value to prospects and clients.
• Present innovative and creative solutions beyond conventional approaches.
• Support technical and business discovery efforts including workshops and demos across multiple projects.
• Collaborate closely with sales teams to strategize accounts and discover new or additional opportunities.
• Manage customer Proofs of Concept (PoC) and pilot projects, ensuring success through clear acceptance criteria and effective issue resolution.
• Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations of company products and solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively across all levels from developers to executives, emphasizing Couchbase's business impact.
• Maintain up-to-date expertise on Couchbase products and the competitive data solutions landscape.
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering to relay customer feedback and perspectives.
• Develop both internal and external technical materials, including best practices, deployment architecture guides, and industry standards documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years experience in pre-sales, consulting, or customer-facing roles.
• At least 3 years of experience in software development or related fields.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases or other distributed, high-performance systems.
• Excellent presentation skills across audiences ranging from technical teams to senior executives.
• Strong enthusiasm for tackling technical challenges and solving customer issues.
• Programming skills in one or more of the following: Java, Python, JavaScript, .NET, C, or SQL.
• Experience working with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge in designing database solutions including data modeling, indexing, and query optimization on major platforms.
• Fluency in both English and Arabic.
