Role Overview

As a senior software engineer, you will be a respected leader within the team, passionate about crafting products that delight customers. You are proactive in owning your tasks, striking a balance between managing technical debt and enhancing user experience through feature development. Key Responsibilities

• Drive product development by advancing our core platform, updating legacy systems, introducing new features, and influencing long-term architecture.
• Identify and mitigate technical debts, improve system performance and reliability, and contribute to strategic scaling decisions.
• Design and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs consistent with best practices including versioning and monitoring.
• Ensure software quality by authoring tests, rigorously reviewing code, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines through collaboration.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers through pair programming, constructive code reviews, and informal coaching, promoting sound architectural principles and fostering continual learning.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of five years’ experience in software development utilizing Java and/or Kotlin with solid understanding of object-oriented design and recognized design patterns.
• Proven expertise in backend service development within web application environments.
• Demonstrated capability to lead small technical projects (up to four developers), providing architectural and design leadership.
• Strong proficiency in data modeling and extensive experience with relational databases, preferably using Hibernate and SQL.
• Excellent communication skills tailored to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
• Logical and analytical thinker with a habit of posing pertinent questions and articulating complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
• Bonus: Knowledge of networking principles such as IP routing and MPLS is advantageous.
