Senior Software Engineer, Google Play

Position Summary

Google seeks an experienced Senior Software Engineer to contribute to Google Play's Android gaming platform and future products. As a vital team member, you will influence how millions of users and game developers engage with Google Play, working on scalable, high-impact projects in a dynamic environment. Collaboration with product management and UX teams is crucial to deliver outstanding user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and test software products and systems to meet project specifications and business needs.
• Engage in or lead design review sessions with peers and stakeholders to evaluate technology choices.
• Review peer code, offering constructive feedback to uphold coding standards concerning style, accuracy, testing, and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain documentation or training materials, updating them based on product changes and user input.
• Analyze, debug, and resolve product or system problems affecting hardware, networks, or service quality through comprehensive issue triaging.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years professional software development using one or multiple programming languages.
• At least 3 years experience involving software product testing, maintenance, or deployment.
• One year hands-on experience in software design and architecture.
• Proficiency in server-side programming techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science or related technical domain.
• Five years or more of working knowledge with data structures and algorithmic concepts.
• At least one year serving in a technical leadership capacity.
• Experience developing technology solutions with accessibility considerations.
