Job description
Position Summary
Google seeks an experienced Senior Software Engineer to contribute to Google Play's Android gaming platform and future products. As a vital team member, you will influence how millions of users and game developers engage with Google Play, working on scalable, high-impact projects in a dynamic environment. Collaboration with product management and UX teams is crucial to deliver outstanding user experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and test software products and systems to meet project specifications and business needs.
- Engage in or lead design review sessions with peers and stakeholders to evaluate technology choices.
- Review peer code, offering constructive feedback to uphold coding standards concerning style, accuracy, testing, and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain documentation or training materials, updating them based on product changes and user input.
- Analyze, debug, and resolve product or system problems affecting hardware, networks, or service quality through comprehensive issue triaging.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years professional software development using one or multiple programming languages.
- At least 3 years experience involving software product testing, maintenance, or deployment.
- One year hands-on experience in software design and architecture.
- Proficiency in server-side programming techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science or related technical domain.
- Five years or more of working knowledge with data structures and algorithmic concepts.
- At least one year serving in a technical leadership capacity.
- Experience developing technology solutions with accessibility considerations.
