Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Golang to join our Platform team. The platform comprises a large Ruby on Rails monolith paired with an evolving suite of Go microservices. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining core business logic and enterprise-grade platform features such as on-premise capabilities, user authentication, caching solutions, job queuing, and API development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Go-based microservices focusing on reliability and correctness.
- Apply enterprise software standards in building business logic across the platform.
- Work closely with Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering teams to meet high availability and scaling needs.
- Participate in all stages of the software development life cycle.
- Produce clean, testable, and efficient code.
- Assess and suggest enhancements for existing systems.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development.
- At least 2 years of backend development experience using Go.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Comprehension of foundational web application components such as databases, load balancers, application servers, message brokers, caching mechanisms, and monitoring tools.
- Experience developing and managing distributed system architectures.
- Competence with version control systems (especially Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails framework.
- Background in building business-to-business (B2B) software systems.
- Experience in adjacent domains like DevOps, machine learning, database administration, or enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of managing and integrating large-scale third-party REST APIs including request throttling and batch processing techniques.
- Participation in open-source software contributions.
