Role Overview

The Senior Software Engineer will lead the design and implementation of vital systems for spiderSilk’s advanced cybersecurity platform. This role involves mentoring junior engineers, steering project efforts, and upholding technical excellence throughout the organization.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Expertise in backend programming languages such as Python and Java, with experience building scalable, high-throughput systems and distributed architectures.
• Strong understanding of security principles and secure coding methodologies.
• Demonstrated leadership skills including project management and mentoring of engineering peers.
• Proficiency in applying AI tools for operational and development support.
• Deep knowledge of software design patterns and their associated trade-offs in practical use cases.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases like MySQL and PostgreSQL encompassing schema design, query tuning, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and commonly used security tools.
• Practical expertise in AI tooling and prompt engineering integrated into daily programming tasks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector) and graph databases (e.g., Neo4j).
