Atlas enables clients to quickly create fault-tolerant, secure, globally distributed MongoDB clusters. This role entails developing software interfacing with top cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) to ensure security, durability, availability, and performance for every MongoDB deployment.
A new Atlas Clusters team is being established in Dublin; candidates residing in Dublin are preferred to support a hybrid work approach.
Primary Responsibilities
- Architect and implement innovative features within MongoDB Atlas.
- Take the lead on complex technical initiatives.
- Collaborate across MongoDB to develop product roadmaps and service offerings.
- Engage directly with customers and support teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues, contributing to the on-call schedule.
- Work jointly with colleagues to enhance our codebase, establish best practices, and evolve design standards.
- Promote an inclusive and respectful workplace culture aligned with MongoDB’s Core Values.
Candidate Profile
- Possesses a minimum of six years in professional software engineering.
- Proficient in building distributed, large-scale backend systems using compiled languages such as Go, Java, or C#.
- Experience working with at least one major cloud platform, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Track record of launching new software modules and managing their production lifecycle.
- Strong problem-solving enthusiasm.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Demonstrates curiosity, teamwork, and self-motivation.
Success Criteria
- Within three months: deliver production code and collaborate with the team on challenging issues.
- By six months: contribute significantly to a major project and actively participate in on-call duties.
- Within a year: design new features, lead development efforts, and become a recognized expert in key system components.
